South Africa stalwart Quinton de Kock has reversed his decision of retirement from ODI cricket and has been named in the Proteas ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming tour of Pakistan. The 32-year-old announced his retirement from test cricket in 2021 during a series against India, citing personal reasons. Before the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, De Kock announced that he would retire from ODI cricket after the tournament.
The left-handed batsman last played a T20I match for South Africa during ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and did not return to the national side for more than a year. So far, he has played 155 ODIs, 92 T20Is, and 54 tests for South Africa.
For the last one year, De Kock has featured in various franchise T20 leagues like SA20, Indian Premier League (IPL), Major League Cricket (MLC), and Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
