Rahul Dravid surprisingly didn’t name any of the 2007 ODI World Cup encounters.
Former India captain and coach Rahul Dravid has picked two matches from the past that he would like to change the result of. Dravid has named a test match and an ODI game, whose results he would’ve liked the other way around.
Notably, the Indian batting legend did not choose the defeats against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in ICC Cricket World Cup 2007, which led to the team’s humiliating first-round exit from the tournament. Dravid was the captain of India in the tournament and faced a lot of criticism after India’s dismal show. Eventually, he even lost captaincy of the side.

Rahul Dravid wishes to change result of these two games of his career
Dravid recently appeared on Ravichandran Ashwin’s YouTube channel ‘Kutti Stories with Ash’. During the chat, the former Indian spinner asked Dravid to pick any games from his playing days that he would like to relive.
Dravid altered the question and instead talked about two games that he would like to relive and change the result of. The former Indian coach wishes to change the result of India’s test match against West Indies in 1997, where they failed to chase down 120 runs. Moreover, he would also like to change the result of India’s final against Australia in ICC Cricket World Cup 2003.
“I like to relieve one that I lost. Everyone would like to relive the one that they won. Can I change the question? I mean the Test match in Barbados during my first trip in 1997. The last couple of pairs added 50-60 runs on a difficult pitch,” he said.
“We had to chase 120 and got bowled out for 80. The series was decided 1-0. We played five Test matches due to rain and all that. Had we won that match, we would have won the series,” he added.
“Maybe the 2003 final in South Africa. We won the toss and made the right decision because it was cloudy. Australia batted too well. I wish we could have changed that,” he further added.
Notably, India lost to West Indies by 38 runs in the third test at Bridgetown, Barbados in 1997. West Indies had set India a target of 140 runs in the match. India, who piled up 319 in the first innings, were bundled out for just 81 runs in the second innings to face a humiliating defeat.
During ICC Cricket World Cup 2003 final, Australia piled up a mammoth total of 359/2 in the first innings. Later, India were bowled out for 234 runs to lose the encounter by 125 runs and finish as runners-up.
