India to play Pakistan on 2nd September at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the big clash in cricket. The most bitter rivalry between the Asian giants is set to resume on September 2 at Pallekele Cricket Ground in Kandy. Kandy is one of the most beautiful places in Sri Lanka. This small city in central Sri Lanka got the chance to host the rivalry between India and Pakistan. As the big clash is nearing, excitement about the game is building up. But there seemed to be an interruption in the game on that day. According to the weather forecast and a few weather reports in Sri Lanka, Kandy might see a bit of rain on September 2nd evening.
Chances of Rain in Ind vs Pak
According to Accuweather, there is a 90% chance that the thunderstorms will spoil the party. Sri Lanka are facing delayed monsoon trouble, and mainly in the evening, heavy rains might occur in the central part of the country. Kandy witnessed various spells of rain the past few days, and according to an Indian Express report, the outfield of the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium got a few patches due to the heavy spell of rain, and dark clouds have been hovering around the city. The same situation prevails in the capital city of Colombo as well.
Pallekele will be hosting three league games until the 4th of September. Apart from India vs. Pakistan, this ground will also host Sri Lanka vs. Bangladesh on Thursday and India’s final league game against Nepal on September 4. Sri Lanka will host nine games in the Asia Cup 2023, while Pakistan will host only four. Colombo’s R Premadasa will be hosting mainly the super 4 round games. A delayed monsoon has put dark clouds over most of Asia Cup games in the southern part of the subcontinent. Pakistan will be hosting only four games, 3 in Lahore and the opening game in Multan.
In Asia Cup 2023 opening game, host Pakistan thrashed Nepal by 238 runs at Multan Cricket Stadium. The weather in Pakistan looks almost clear for all four games. Lahore will be hosting the final two league games of group B, where Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will be taking on Afghanistan at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Lahore also gets the opening game of the super 4 round, and then the entire tournament will be played in Sri Lanka’s capital city, including the final on September 17.
