Rajasthan Royals (RR) strongest playing XI for IPL 2025

Rajasthan Royals finished third in the IPL 2024.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) will hope to go a couple of steps further in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season than where they finished last time. RR finished third on the points table in IPL 2024. They won the Eliminator, but lost the Qualifier 2.
Rajasthan have made some bold moves at the IPL 2025 mega auction. Having retained six players – Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shimron Hetmyer, Dhruv Jurel, Riyan Parag and Sandeep Sharma (uncapped player) – Rajasthan aimed at building around this strong core.
Standout additions for the franchise in the auction were of English fast bowler Jofra Archer and Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga. Archer will partner Sandeep Sharma in the Royals’ pace attack whereas Hasaranga will lead RR’s spin department.
Another factor that makes the Archer-Sandeep pairing is the versatility it offers. Sandeep is known for his discipline with the new ball, while Archer is a reliable bowler in the death overs.
Another interesting addition to the Royals’ squad has been Nitish Rana. Rana will partner Parag, Jurel and Hetmyer to strengthen the Royals’ middle order. Interestingly the franchise has turned to the Sri Lankan duo Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga to replace the Indian spin pair of Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal.
Rajasthan made history in mega auction by acquiring Bihar’s 13-year-old Vaibhav Raghuvanshi. Raghuvanshi is the youngest player to get picked in the IPL. He is also the youngest player to draw a salary of over INR 1 crore in the IPL.
One big lacking in the Rajasthan squad is a quality Indian spinner. While Nitish Rana and Riyan Parag can both bowl during the middle overs, the squad lacks a wicket-taking Indian spinner. Sanju Samson would be over relied on the the duo of Hasaranga and Theekshana to work their magic throughout the season.
RR strongest XI for IPL 2025:
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson (C,wk), Nitish Rana, Riyan Parag, Shimron Hetmyer, Dhruv Jurel, Shubham Dubey, Wanindu Hasaranga, Jofra Archer, Maheesh Theekshana, Tushar Deshpande, Sandeep Sharma (Impact)
