Rashid Khan becomes 4th Afghanistan cricketer to play 100 ODIs
Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan is playing his 100th ODI against Sri Lanka in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
Star spinner Rashid Khan has become the fourth cricketer to play 100 ODIs for Afghanistan when his side got on the field against Sri Lanka in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 tournament. This is the 30th match of the CWC 2023 and is being played at the MCA Stadium in Pune on October 30, 2023.
Sri Lanka and Afghanistan are two teams that have been among the most remarkable countries that have not been able to secure a spot in the top four. Both teams came in with low expectations and surprised a few favorites along the way to keep the top four slots within reach.
Hashmatullah Shahidi, Afghanistan's captain, won the toss and elected to bowl first. Shahidi stated that he expects dew to come into play later in the day and has replaced Noor Ahmad with Fazalhaq Farooqi.
Sri Lanka have implemented two changes. While Dushmantha Chameera was always expected to replace the injured Lahiru Kumara in the squad, opener Kusal Perera has been withdrawn and Dimuth Karunaratne has been reintroduced.
Sri Lanka have seen a recent surge in tournaments and are in 5th place with 4 points from 5 games. Afghanistan are placed 7th with 2 points as well, but with a poorer net run rate.
