Rashid Khan has become fourth Afghanistan cricketer to play 100 ODIs.

Rashid Khan has achieved a remarkable milestone, becoming the fourth cricketer from Afghanistan to play 100 One-Day International (ODI) matches. He accomplished this significant feat against Sri Lanka during the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

For Rashid Khan, this is a momentous day in his cricket career as he marks his 100th ODI appearance for the Afghan national team. His journey began in 2015 when he made his debut in the ODI format, and since then, he has swiftly established himself as a key player within the team. He now joins the ranks of fellow Afghan cricketers, including Rahmat Shah (103 ODIs), Mohammad Nabi (153 ODIs), and Asghar Afghan (114 ODIs).

Rashid, renowned as Afghanistan's premier bowler, is not only a potent force with the ball but also a valuable asset with the bat in the lower order. With an impressive record, he has accumulated the highest number of wickets among Afghanistan's bowlers in ODIs, boasting a total of 178 scalps. Notably, he stands on the verge of surpassing Australia's Brett Lee (179 wickets) and claiming the fourth spot in the list of bowlers with the most wickets after playing 100 ODIs.

Rashid Khan's remarkable achievement doesn't stop there. His outstanding performance is highlighted by his best bowling figures of 7/18, achieved against the West Indies, which ranks as the fourth-best bowling performance in ODI history. Furthermore, he holds an exceptional ODI bowling average of 20.14, which stands as the best among spinners representing full-member teams, provided they have taken at least 50 wickets in this format.
