India are scheduled to play five tests from January 2024 to March 2024.

Ace India spinner Ravi Ashwin was elated to see Vizag and Rajkot being chosen as the venues for two of the five-Test series between India and England next year.

England will be visiting India for a series of five Tests in the January-March window next year as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced the schedule for the home fixtures for the 2023-24 season.

Hyderabad, Vizag, Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharamsala will host the given Tests, respectively. For only the second time since England’s first tour of India in 1933-34, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai all miss out on staging a Test match.

The only other time this happened was in 2001 when a three-match series saw Tests played at Mohali, Ahmedabad, and Bangalore.

England’s last tour of India in early 2021 saw four Tests played largely behind closed doors at Chennai and Ahmedabad, with two matches each at both of the venues.

England’s Tour of India 2024 Schedule:

First Test: 25-29 January, Hyderabad

Second Test: 2-6 February, Visakhapatnam

Third Test: 15-19 February, Rajkot

Fourth Test: 23-27 February, Ranchi

Fifth Test: 7-11 March, Dharamshala

"Vizag and Rajkot hold status quo. Should be a good series," Ravi Ashwin elated with the venues of the India-England Test series

On the other hand, Indian spinner Ravi Ashwin was pretty happy with the fact that Vizag and Rajkot, both spin-friendly wickets, were retained for the England Test series. England played at these two venues during their tour of India in 2016 and drew the Test in Vizag, but lost by 246 runs at Rajkot.

India spinner Ravi Aswin was delighted with the choice of venues, especially Vizag and Rajkot. According to Ravi Ashwin, the two iconic venues hold a "status quo". The veteran cricketer also pointed out the fact that Vizag and Rajkot also hosted games when England last time toured India for a five-Test series in 2016-17.
