Ravi Ashwin lavishes praise on KL Rahul's efforts with the bat in middle-order

KL Rahul received praises from fellow Indian cricketer Ravi Ashwin.
KL Rahul made a splendid comeback for team India after a four-months break due to injury. Rahul smashed a century against Pakistan in his comeback innings and scored an unbeaten 111 runs in 106 balls with 12 fours and 2 sixes. His comeback was the most anticipated in Indian cricket. Rahul then again played a magnificent fighting knock against Sri Lanka on a turning track. India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has given KL Rahul a big compliment and said that he is providing Indian team with the stability they need in the middle-order.
Ashwin lauds Rahul's effort
Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is spending his off-time as a Youtuber and recently gave his opinion on many games and situations. Praising KL Rahul, Ravi Ashwin said, "KL Rahul is giving us that stability with the bat in the middle order. That’s why batting in the middle order is really difficult. MS Dhoni nailed the art. However, I am not at all comparing KL Rahul with MS Dhoni. Plus, he did a different job of batting at numbers 6 and 7 compared to KL Rahul. But I feel he is slowly mastering his role perfectly."
KL Rahul played a crucial 39-runs knock against Sri Lanka and added a crucial 63-runs stand along with Ishan Kishan (33) in 14 overs. Rahul’s innings provided great help to team India while facing Sri Lankan left-arm spinner Dunith Wellalage. Wellalage was running riot with his spin bowling against the Indian top-order. Ashwin lauded KL Rahul and said that Rahul looked like he had a great plan against Sri Lankan spinners. Wellalage picked up five wickets in the innings against India.
Ravichandran Ashwin said, "He (Rahul) put a partnership with Ishan Kishan initially against Sri Lanka too. When Dunith Wellalage was in a great rhythm, KL Rahul left it alone for two deliveries. That was a very good sign. It showed us that he had a good game plan." India will be taking on Bangladesh in their final Super Four encounter, and then they will take on one of Pakistan or Sri Lanka in Asia Cup 2023 finals in Colombo. The winner of Pakistan vs Sri Lanka will qualify for the finals of the tournament.
