Ravi Ashwin reacts after notable omission from India XI in WTC 2023 Final

Ravi Ashwin missed out on India's playing XI in the ICC WTC final against Australia.
Ravi Ashwin, an Indian spinner has reacted to his omission from the Indian XI for the recently concluded ICC WTC 2023 final which they lost to Australia by 209 runs at the Oval in London on Sunday, June 11.
Australia was given the opportunity to bat first by India's captain, Rohit Sharma, and they dominated the game by amassing 469 runs. Travis Head and Steve Smith each made hundreds, and Mohammed Siraj took four wickets.
The Indian batting struggled, leading to just Ajinkya Rahane (89) and Shardul Thakur (51), who provided some resistance in the 296-run first-innings total. Australia enjoyed itself in the second innings, hitting 270/8d and handing India a 444-run target to chase with a 173-run advantage.
Apart from Virat Kohli's 49, Rohit Sharma's 43, and Ajinkya Rahane's 46, none of the other batters contributed significantly as India was bowled out for 234 after a promising start to their innings and lost by 209 runs.
Ravi Ashwin’s absence in the game was visibly noticed as the pitch dried up after day two and had variable bounce on day 3 and 4, which Ravindra Jadeja exploited to pick three wickets in Australian second innings.
Amidst all the chaos and scathing assessments…- Ravi Ashwin reacts on Twitter
Following India's loss in the WTC final, Ravi Ashwin, who was not selected by the Rahul Dravid-coached team for the summit match, has spoken out in favor of his teammates and the coaching staff.
After the World Test Championship was over, the top-ranked Test bowler in the world tweeted about how well-behaved his team was in the face of defeat.
“Congratulations Australia on winning this #WTCFinal and closing out this cycle of test cricket. It is disappointing to end up on the wrong side of things, nevertheless, it was a great effort over the last 2 years or so to get here in the first place. Amidst all the chaos and scathing assessments, i feel it’s very important to acknowledge all my teammates who played in this cycle and most importantly the coaching and support staffs who have held on like a rock of support,” Ravi Ashwin tweeted.
India went for Umesh Yadav over Ashwin in the final, keeping the overcast conditions on day one in mind, but the clouds went away after the first two hours and then Australian batters made merry.
