Ravi Ashwin posted a tweet to take a jibe at Rishabh Pant in the second IND vs SA test.
Former India spinner Ravi Ashwin expressed his disappointment at Rishabh Pant’s body language in the second test between Indian Cricket Team and South Africa Cricket. The Temba Bavuma & Co. have gained a dominating position in the encounter, which is underway at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati and now look red hot favourites to win the title.
The visitors piled up a gigantic total of 489 runs in the first innings and later bowled out the hosts for just 201 runs, earning a 288-run lead. In the second innings too, South Africa have come up with another dominating effort with the bat, taking the lead past 450.
Ahead of the match, Indian captain Shubman Gill was ruled out of the encounter due to a neck injury which he sustained in the previous game. Hence, vice-captain Pant took the reins of the side in Gill’s absence, becoming the 38th player to lead India in test cricket. After MS Dhoni, he also became the second wicket-keeper batter to captain India in the longest format.
However, his captaincy has completely flopped against South Africa, as they have overpowered India in both batting and bowling so far.
Ravi Ashwin takes a dig at Rishabh Pant & Co.

Taking to the micro-blogging site X (formerly Twitter), Ashwin shared a photo of Pant and took a jibe at his body language. He said that he hopes India can make a comeback in the second innings, however, their captain’s body language tells a different story.
“I really hope we can bounce back while batting in the 2nd innings, but the indications on the field with respect to body language. #indvsa,” Ashwin tweeted.
Notably, the wicket-keeper batter completely failed to make a mark with the bat in the first innings, getting out for just seven runs. He became a victim of Marco Jansen while trying to hit a big shot, getting caught by wicket-keeper Kyle Verreynne. Key Indian batters lost their wickets for single digits like a house of cards, with Jansen clinching a six-wicket haul in the first innings.
