"I see India winning a World Cup very soon"- Ravi Shastri hopeful for India winning ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024

Ravi Shastri believes India have a great chance to end the trophy drought in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.
After the conclusion of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, all the focus has shifted to the shorter format. It is because the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 is all set to take place in June in West Indies and USA. A total of 20 teams will be taking part in the mega event. India missed the opportunity to win the World Cup 2023 at home. They came very close and dominated most of the tournament.
But unfortunately, they could not put on the performance they would have liked in the finals and lost to Australia. This was the second ICC finals that India have lost in a span of 4 to 5 months. But they have another chance. This time in a shorter format. That's what former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri also reckons.

Ravi Shastri said that the defeat in the finals against Australia was a heartbreaking one for everyone because the way they played throughout, they deserved to win. But he also said that it is not easy to win ICC titles. In a media interaction, Shastri gave the example of Indian great Sachin Tendulkar and said that it took him six attempts to win a World Cup trophy.
He said, "I see India winning a World Cup very soon. It might not be a 50-over (one) that easily because you have to rebuild the side, but 20-over cricket, the very next one, India will be very serious challengers because you have got the nucleus; this is a shorter format of the game. Your focus should be on that."
India are currently playing a five-match T20I series against Australia at home. They have given rest to all their senior players, and the young lot is in action under Suryakumar Yadav. They have beaten Australia in the first two games quite comprehensively and are looking pretty solid. This could be a possible audition for the T20 World Cup 2024 because India don't have many games to play in this format. Hence, the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rinku Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and others have game time to prove themselves.
