Ravindra Jadeja completed 200 ODI wickets in IND vs BAN Asia Cup 2023 Super Four clash.

Indian spin all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has joined the list of great Indian bowlers as he completes the 200 ODI wickets milestone. Jadeja became the 7th Indian bowler to touch the milestone of 200 one-day international wickets during the clash against Bangladesh at R Premadasa Cricket Stadium in Colombo. Jadeja became the leading wicket-taker for India in Asia Cup tournament in the previous game against Sri Lanka in the super 4 round. Indian bowlers have dominated Bangladesh batters in the game so far.

Bangladesh left-hander Shamim Hossain became Ravindra Jadeja’s 200th ODI scalp. Shamim Hossain was caught plumb in front as Jadeja delivered one fuller-length bowl in the 35th over. Ravindra Jadeja is the slowest Indian bowler to complete the 200-wickets milestone in his career. Ravindra Jadeja opened up his wicket tally against Australia in Vadodara when he caught Australian captain Ricky Ponting plumb in front in 2009. Since then, he has been a consistent figure on the Indian white-ball team.

Ravindra Jadeja joined the likes of Anil Kumble, Javagal Shrinath, Ajit Agarkar, Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh, and Kapil Dev in the list of bowlers with more than 200 ODI wickets. Leg-spinner Anil Kumble is India’s leading wicket-taker in this format, with 334 wickets in 269 games. Javagal Shrinath is the other bowler with more than 300 wickets in ODIs for India. Srinath has picked up 315 wickets in 229 ODIs.

Team India have taken control of the game against Bangladesh in Colombo. Bangladesh have lost seven wickets in under 200 runs. Shardul Thakur and Mohammed Shami have rattled the Bangladesh top-order and paved the way for Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel to put some extra pressure in the middle-overs of the innings. Shakib Al Hasan (80) and Towhid Hridoy (54) added 101 runs to put Bangladesh in a decent position.
