Ravindra Jadeja scored the winning runs by smashing 10 in 2 balls in the IPL 2023 final.

Despite Chennai Super Kings' record-breaking win in the IPL 2023, their campaign had a bit of a spoil. There was news around two of the senior CSK players MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja. A few media reports suggested that nothing is going alright between the CSK skipper MS Dhoni and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja since Jadeja left the camp in the IPL 2022 citing an injury.

Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan has come out in the open to brush aside all the controversial news around two senior CSK members. In a playoff game against Gujarat Titans, Kasi Viswanathan's video of having a serious discussion with Ravindra Jadeja also got viral which added a little more fuel to the controversy.

'Jadeja was hurt'

Talking about the chat and all the controversy around Ravindra Jadeja, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said, “As far as Jadeja is concerned… whenever he went in to bat, he had 5-10 balls left. In such situations, it can or can’t click sometimes. But the thing is he also knew Dhoni was to come in next, and he himself would get just 2-3 balls sometimes. In such situations whenever he went in, the crowd used to welcome Dhoni. In a way, he may have felt hurt. Any player for that matter may have had that pressure. But he didn’t complain though he put out a tweet”. Jadeja was miffed with the crowd chanting “we want Dhoni” chants whenever he walked into bat.

Talking about the viral video where he was talking and consoling Ravindra Jadeja, CSK CEO said, “People saw videos online and assumed I am pacifying Jadeja, but it wasn’t like that. I was talking to him about the match, what he did. We didn’t have any other discussion. Everyone knows in a team environment, what happens in the dressing room. No one is privy to it outside… later he also dedicated his IPL final innings to MS Dhoni, that is the kind of respect he has for MS Dhoni”. In the IPL 2022 Ravindra Jadeja was appointed CSK captain but was replaced again by MS Dhoni and Jadeja left the camp citing an injury mid-season. In the IPL 2023 as well both the senior players were involved in an animated chat after their game in Delhi.
