Ravindra Jadeja equaled Irfan Pathan for most wickets by an Indian bowler in Asia Cup (ODI).
Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has become India’s leading wicket-taker in Asia Cup ODI tournament after his magnificent three-wicket spell against Nepal at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy. Jadeja was the chief destroyer in Indian bowling attack against Nepal's middle-order. Nepal got a brilliant opening stand in their innings as Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Shaikh added 65 runs in 10 overs. After the first wicket, Jadeja came in and picked up three wickets.

With the wicket of Kushal Malla in the 22nd over, Jadeja equaled all-rounder Irfan Pathan as India’s leading wicket-taker in Asia Cup ODI tournament. Irfan Pathan had taken 22 wickets in 12 games, while India's premier left-arm spinner Jadeja has 22 wickets in 16 games. He has also become the leading wicket-taker among the current members taking part in the tournament. Shakib Al Hasan is just one wicket away from equaling him.
He bowled 10 overs and picked up three wickets in his spell. He conceded only 40 runs. Jadeja castled Bhim Sharki for his first wicket in the game. He didn’t let any Nepali batter settle in the crease after their good opening stand. Jadeja later dismissed captain Rohit Paudel and Kushal Malla to take Nepal 4 down by a 101-runs score. Another spinner in the Indian camp, Kuldeep Yadav, couldn’t pick up any wickets in the game, but he kept the pressure on.
Nepal have touched the 230 mark in their innings, as after an attacking opening stand, two all-rounders, Dipendra Singh Airee and Sompal Kami, took the charge in the lower order. Airee smashed 29 runs in 25 balls to take Nepal’s score above 200 against India. Gulshan Jha also contributed 23 runs to Nepal’s score. Fans are disappointed to see the standards of Indian fielding and bowling against Nepal in their last league game.
