Ravindra Jadeja scored the winning runs for India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final.

On Sunday, March 9, India defeated New Zealand by four wickets in the summit clash to win ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Indian team has now surpassed Australia to become the team with the most ICC Champions Trophy titles, with a tally of three.

Chasing 252, the Men in Blue were led by captain Rohit Sharma, who scored 76 off 83 balls and provided a solid start to the run chase. He received support from small but valuable contributions by Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Axar Patel, and Hardik Pandya, who held their nerve to complete the win.

It was a special night for Ravindra Jadeja as he had the honor of scoring the winning runs. He was also India’s most economical bowler in the first innings, finishing with figures of 1/30 in 10 overs.

After the tournament, speculations about the future of veterans like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja intensified. While Rohit clarified in the post-match press conference that he has no plans of retiring, Jadeja took to Instagram to address rumors about his future in ODI cricket.

Notably, Kohli, Rohit and Jadeja called it quits from T20I cricket after India won the T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados.

Jadeja wrote, “No Unnecessary Rumours. Thanks.

Earlier, Jadeja had announced his retirement from T20Is after India’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 win in Barbados. The 36-year-old all-rounder has so far scored 2,806 runs and taken 231 wickets in 204 ODIs.

The two-time ICC Champions Trophy and one-time T20 World Cup winner will aim for ICC Cricket World Cup title in 2027 to join the elite list of players who have won all three ICC white-ball titles.
