The defending champions of Indian Premier League (IPL), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), are ready to defend their title. The Rajat Patidar-led RCB ended their 18-year trophy drought last year and won the title for the first time. They will return in IPL 2026 with the aim of defending their crown.

RCB will start their campaign on the opening day of the IPL at their home ground, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. There were doubts about whether the venue would host the games this season, but it is now confirmed. RCB will be looking to begin their campaign with a win.

The RCB management decided to retain 17 players ahead of the IPL 2026 auction, choosing to retain most of the championship-winning team. Further, they added some key players in the auction, making the squad stronger.

The acquired some match winning players such as Venkatesh Iyer, Jacob Duffy, Jordan Cox and also added some promising Indian talents like Mangesh Yadav, Vihaan Malhotra, Vicky Ostwal and Kanishk Chouhan.

All of them give the team a very good backup option and some might even challenge the management to force changes and fit them into the main playing 12.
