RCB won the IPL 2025.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise has finally broken the silence on the stampede controversy during their victory celebration of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. They posted for the first time in three months, addressing fans, whom they called the “12th Man Army”.
RCB franchise has been in the news ever since IPL 2025 started. The franchise ended their title drought as they defeated the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final and won their first-ever title. Under the leadership of Rajat Patidar, the franchise lifted the trophy at the Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.
After winning, RCB organised a winning parade in Bengaluru followed by celebrations at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. However, it turned out to be tragic as the cases of stampede arrived and more than ten people ended up losing their lives.
It turned into one of the biggest controversies, with the franchise facing a lot of criticism. Even some of their officials got arrested as well. Not only that, even matches at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru are not happening because the Karnataka government is not allowing the state association to host games.
Since that tragedy, RCB hasn’t been active on social media and other platforms. However, months later, they came up with the candid post on social media. They highlighted how that day changed their hearts broke. Releasing the official statement, the franchise stated:
“It’s been close to three months since we last posted here. The silence wasn’t an absence. It was grief. This space was once filled with energy, memories and moments that you enjoyed the most. But June 4th changed everything. That day broke our hearts, and the silence since then has been our way of holding space.”
“In that silence, we’ve been grieving. Listening. Learning. And slowly, we’ve begun to build something more than just a response. Something we truly believe in. That’s how RCB Cares came to life. It grew out of a need to honour, to heal, and to stand beside our fans. A platform for meaningful action shaped by our community and fans.”
The statement added:
“We return to this space today, not with celebration but with care. To share. To stand with you. To walk forward, together. To continue being the pride of Karnataka. RCB Cares. And we always will. More details soon.”
