Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will host Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in match No. 58 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The RCB vs KKR clash will take place on Saturday, May 17, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Rajat Patidar is the captain of RCB in IPL 2025. The three-time runners-up have shown a wonderful form so far in the tournament. They have won eight games and lost three matches out of 11 encounters. With 16 points, they steal the second spot in the points table. RCB need just one more victory to confirm their berth in the playoffs.

Ajinkya Rahane is the captain of KKR in IPL 2025. The defending champions have played 12 matches so far, winning five games and losing six clashes. With 11 points, they occupy the sixth spot in the points table. KKR’s one match ended with no result due to rain. KKR need to crush RCB in the next clash to keep their hopes alive to qualify for the playoffs.

A few games at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in the past were affected by rain. According to the forecast from weather.com, the temperature of Bengaluru city on Saturday, May 17, will be 29° C during the day and 21° C at night.

The sky will witness thunderstorms during the day and night. The chances of rain are 58% during the day and 76% at night. Since the RCB vs KKR clash will commence at 7:30 PM at night, there is a high chance of rain affecting the encounter.

Meanwhile, only two games out of 57 have been washed out due to rain and ended with no result. The 44th match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and KKR ended in no result. The 55th match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) was washed out due to rain.

However, none of these games took place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Moreover, no games have been completely washed out in Bengaluru this season so far. The 34th match of IPL 2025 between RCB and PBKS in Bengaluru was affected by rain and reduced to 14 overs per side.
