IPL 2025: Who is Blessing Muzarabani? All you need to know about RCB's new replacement player

RCB have roped in Blessing Muzarabani as Lungi Ngidi’s replacement for remainder of IPL 2025.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have inducted Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani into their squad for the remainder of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Muzarabani has replaced South Africa pacer Lungi Ngidi in RCB squad. Ngidi is set to return to South Africa for national duty.
Notably, Ngidi is part of South Africa’s squad for ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 final. South Africa will face Australia in the crucial test encounter at the Lord’s in London. The ICC WTC final 2023-25 will commence on June 11. However, South Africa Team will travel a little early to England to prepare for the encounter.
Ngidi played only one match for RCB in IPL 2025. The right-arm pacer picked a three-wicket haul at an economy of 7.50 in the clash. RCB have signed his replacement Muzarabani for INR 75 lakhs. He will play for RCB from May 26.
IPL 2025: Who is Blessing Muzarabani?
Muzarabani is a right-arm pacer from Zimbabwe. He has represented Zimbabwe across all three formats. The right-arm pacer has played 12 tests, 55 ODIs, and 70 T20Is so far. He has scalped 51 wickets in 19 innings at an average of 21.84 in tests. He also accounts for three five-wicket hauls in tests.
In ODIs, the 28-year-old player has captured 69 wickets at an average of 32.12. He has scalped 78 wickets in the shortest format at an economy of 7.03. He made his international debut in 2017 and is regular member of the national team across all three formats. Blessing Muzarabani has not played any game in the IPL yet.
However, he is quite active in other franchise T20 leagues. He has played in leagues like International League T20 (ILT20), Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Pakistan Super League (PSL). In his T20 career, Muzarabani has experience of 118 games and has scalped 127 wickets at an economy of 7.24.
