The first two ODIs between West Indies and India will be played in Barbados on July 27 and 29.

India and West Indies will clash in the first of the three ODIs on July 27, 2023, which will be played at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. The venue will also host the second ODI on July 29.

The third match of the ODI series will be played at Tarouba on August 1, 2023. To be noted, West Indies failed to qualify for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 in India, but will look at this series as an experiment for the future.

However, this ODI series has a lot of value for the Indian team as they will resume their preparations for the upcoming ICC event. The Men in Blue only have a few ODI games left in hand after this West Indies series. They will face off against Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2023 next month.

And then will have another three ODIs in September against Australia before the World Cup begins.

Therefore, this three-match ODI series will be significant for the Indian team as they have chosen quite a new look side, especially the fast-bowling contingent which is missing Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, and Mohammed Siraj.

While the focus of the Indian team will be to win this series while giving chances to as many players as possible, there are some of players who are on the brink of achieving some huge milestones in ODI cricket.

First of all, Virat Kohli, who has regained his luck and form in international cricket, needs only 102 runs more to become the fifth batter overall and the second Indian to achieve 13,000 runs in ODI cricket. He currently has 12898 runs in 274 ODIs.

At the same time, captain Rohit Sharma is on the verge of achieving a huge milestone as he needs 175 runs to complete 10,000 runs in ODI cricket. If he manages to achieve the same, he will be the 15th overall and 6th Indian to achieve this feat.

Shubman Gill, who has 2479 runs in international cricket thus far, needs 21 more runs to reach the 2500-run mark.

Ravindra Jadeja (41) needs 3 more wickets to surpass Kapil Dev and become the highest wicket-taker for India against West Indies in ODIs.

The duo of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have 4998 runs in 85 ODIs and needs just 2 runs more to achieve the 5000-run milestone in ODIs.
