Revealed: How much BCCI will earn per international match from Viacom18 in next 5 years

Viacom18 has acquired BCCI TV and digital rights for next 5 years.
In a wind of change, Viacom18 has won the rights to India’s home games for the next 5 years. Board of Control for India (BCCI) announced on Thursday that Viacom18 won the TV broadcasting rights for India's home season. BCCI organised an auction for this, and Viacom's bid was successful over Sony Sports Network and Star Sports. Viacom18 will be broadcasting India’s home season games, starting with a three-match series against Australia in September. Viacom18 will be broadcasting these games live on their sports channel ‘Sports 18’ and on ‘Jio Cinema’ as a digital live stream.
What will BCCI earn from this deal?
With this deal, BCCI will be getting a huge amount per game for the next 5 years, as Viacom18 got the rights starting in September 2023 and ending in March 2028. BCCI will earn 5967 crore rupees with this deal. BCCI will now earn 67 crore rupees per match, which is a jump of 7 crore rupees per match from the previous deal with Star Sports Network. They will get 32 crore rupees from TV broadcasting rights and 35 crore rupees from digital live streaming rights. Team India will host around 88 matches in the next 5 years at home. They will play 25 tests, 27 ODIs, and 36 T20Is until March 2028 in India.

Viacom 18 gets bigger
Sports 18 was the official broadcaster of the inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League in India. They also earned the rights to Indian Premier League digital streaming in 2023. Viacom18 now has all the important fixtures aside from ICC events and Indian Premier League TV rights. Along with India's home season, they also have the rights to South Africa’s home matches starting on their next home season, IPL digital rights, India's home season, SA20, and WPL in cricket. Sony Sports Network holds the TV rights for England, Pakistan, and Australia's home seasons, along with The Hundreds and the BBL. Star got Sri Lanka, CPL, IPL, and ICC events.
