Revised World Cup 2023 schedule is out, India vs Pakistan on 14th October, 9 more games date changed

The tournament will begin on 5th October with England taking on New Zealand.
The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023‘s biggest clash between two arch-rivals, India and Pakistan, has been shifted one day earlier from the previous date which was October 15th. Gujarat authorities had requested the BCCI change of date, as October 15 marks the beginning of the holy Hindu 9-day festival Navratri. To maintain adequate security, the big business clash has been shifted to Saturday, October 14th, while the venue remains unchanged as Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium will host the biggest spectacle in the mega event. Apart from this, nine more games have been added to their previous schedule.
Total of 10 games date changed
BCCI secretary Jay Shah earlier revealed that 2-3 full member nations asked to change their dates from the schedule revealed on June 27, 2023, just 10 days before the tournament. Along with India vs. Pakistan, three more games of Pakistan, two of Australia, three of England, and one of New Zealand vs. Bangladesh have been changed. The venue will remain the same for all games. Pakistan asked to change their opening clash against Netherlands as well, but it will happen as it was scheduled earlier. India’s last league game against the Netherlands will be played on November 12, earlier scheduled for November 11.
New Zealand’s encounter against Bangladesh will be played a day earlier now, on October 13th at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. The England vs. Bangladesh game at HPCA Stadium will be played in daylight on October 10. Earlier, it was scheduled to be played as a day-night game in Dharamshala. Another big World Cup 2023 clash between Australia and South Africa will be played on October 12 at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow; previously, it was scheduled for October 13.
The World Cup 2023 mega event will begin on October 5 with defending champion England taking on previous edition’s runner-up New Zealand. Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad will host most of the big games in the tournament, along with the final on November 19. Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host the semifinals of the event. 10 teams will be participating in the event, including the first time without the two-time champions West Indies.
