IPL talents like Rinku Singh and Jitesh Sharma likely to be included in India's squad for WI T20Is.

The Indian team will be dusting off the sorrows of the WTC 2023 final loss and moving on to their next assignment, the tour of the West Indies where they will play two Tests, three ODIs, and five T20Is from next month onwards.

The selection committee, led by Shiv Sunder Das, is focused on identifying and grooming the next generation of players for more challenging assignments.

It is expected that a completely new team under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya will be selected, with IPL performers likely to be rewarded with a chance.

T20 Internationals, where Hardik Pandya will captain India, including in next year's T20 World Cup in the Americas (West Indies and USA), are one format where there won't be any questions.

Teams in the past lacked finishers, therefore the T20I team would be entirely based on IPL performers. As such, one may anticipate players like Rinku Singh and Jitesh Sharma making the final roster.

Ruturaj Gaikwad And Mohit Sharma In Line For Call-Up For West Indies T20Is

While three T20Is will be played in the Caribbean, the last two matches are scheduled to be held at the Fort Lauderdale ground in USA, as per the arrangement between the Cricket West Indies and the USA Cricket Board.

Rinku Singh is seen as a finisher, especially after his feat of five sixes in five balls in the IPL 2023 in the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans. He had impressed one and all with his composure.

With Rishabh Pant out of contention and Ishan Kishan unable to cement his place in T20Is as keeper, India might look towards Jitesh Sharma, who has done exceedingly well for Punjab Kings in the past two seasons with the bat as a finisher and also behind the stumps.

Yashasvi Jaiswal's inclusion and Ruturaj Gaikwad's return look imminent, and Mohit Sharma may make a much-deserving return after taking 27 wickets in the previous IPL.

Considering their workload and the impending ODIs before the World Cup, players like Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj might be rested while Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are transitioning out of the shorter format.
