"I felt God gave me everything…"- Rinku Singh terms his five sixes against Yash Dayal in IPL 2023 as dream moment

Indian batter Rinku Singh recalled his iconic five sixes during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, calling it a dream moment. The left-handed batsman is set to play for the Indian Cricket Team in Asia Cup 2025.
In IPL 2023, Rinku slammed five sixes off Yash Dayal when his team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), needed 29 runs to win off the last five deliveries. His amazing batting show stunned the spectators and fans, and his five sixes became a highlight of the tournament.
The feat also helped him to eventually make his debut for India, and now, two years later, he is a key member of the side. So far, he has played 33 T20Is and scored 546 runs at a strike rate of 161.07, including three fifties.

During a conversation with Times of India, Rinku recalled his five sixes of IPL 2023. He said that the feat gave him a different identity among fans.
“Yes, people know me because of that match, and since then, expectations have gone up a lot. I’ve received so much love from everyone. After those five sixes, I got a different identity altogether – not just for myself, but for the whole of India”, he said.
“For me, it was a huge moment. The team needed 29 runs, and then five sixes came in a row. It was like a dream – these things don’t happen every day. It happened to me, and I’m thankful to the Almighty for that. All the hard work I had put in over the years felt rewarded in that one innings. In that moment, I felt God gave me everything,” he added.
Meanwhile, Rinku is currently busy in UP T20 League 2025, where he is the captain of Meerut Mavericks. His team will lock horns with Kashi Rudras in the final of the tournament on September 6.
Later, Rinku will join the India squad in the UAE for Asia Cup 2025. The left-handed batter has shown a wonderful form in the tournament, scoring 372 runs in 11 games at an average of 62.0 and a strike rate of 178.85.
