Rinku Singh is currently with KKR for INR 55 lakhs since the IPL 2022 mega auction.

Stylish left-handed batter Rinku Singh is one of the crucial players in the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Rinku was acquired by KKR in the 2018 edition for INR 80 lakhs and then for INR 55 lakhs in the IPL 2022 mega-auction. Over the last three seasons, he’s become is an integral part of the KKR franchise.

In the IPL 2023 edition, the 26-year-old Rinku had a breakthrough season where he amassed 474 runs in 14 matches at a stunning average of 59.25.

The star batter also smashed four half-centuries while representing the Kolkata-based franchise in the IPL 2023 season. His performances also earned him his maiden call-up for the Indian cricket team in T20Is last year.

Wants to play for RCB because Virat Kohli is there: Rinku Singh

During an interaction with Sports Tak, Rinku was asked about which team he would like to play for in IPL 2025 if KKR do not retain him ahead of the IPL 2025 mega-auction.

Rinku replied: “RCB, because Virat Kohli is there.”

Rinku made his T20I debut against Ireland in August 2023 and his ODI debut against South Africa in December 2023.

The 26-year-old has played 23 T20Is and smashed 418 runs at a superb average of 59.71 and strike rate of 174. In ODIs, Rinku has just played two matches and scored 55 runs at a strike rate of 134.

However, despite performing well in the shortest format, Rinku was excluded from India’s squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 but travelled with the team as a reserve player.

After this, Rinku played a five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe and the T20I series against Sri Lanka, where he also took two crucial wickets in the third T20I.
