Watch: Rishabh Pant walks into bat for first time in practice match after 8 month
Rishabh Pant underwent serious knee surgery to repair ligament damage during the car accident.
Indian Cricket Team star wicket-keeper batsmen Rishabh Pant returned to the field and batted in the middle for the first time in 8 months since his almost fatal car accident on the eve of New Year in December 2022.
At the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, where he had been continuing his recovery, Pant has started batting and keeping, according to the most recent official update from the BCCI, which was published on July 21.
On December 30 last year, Rishabh Pant was involved in a horrific car accident. He received basic medical attention in Dehradun before being flown by BCCI to Mumbai for more care, which included knee surgery.
Since that time, Pant, who missed a lot of Indiaâs cricket matches, has been rehabilitating and receiving treatment at the NCA in Bengaluru. According to sources, he has even started keeping wickets and batting in the nets as part of a limited return to the game.
The absence of Pant, had an influence on every member of the team, with test cricket feeling the effects the most acutely.
The selectors filled Pantâs spot, after the sad vehicle accident which forced him to be sidelined. He was replaced by KS Bharat and Ishan Kishan, respectively.
