MS Dhoni remains the only captain to win all three ICC white-ball trophies.

Rishabh Pant, who is recuperating from the injuries he suffered in the near-fatal car crash, at the NCA, celebrated MS Dhoni’s 42nd birthday by cutting a cake and wishing him on Instagram.

The 2011 World Cup-winning India captain MS Dhoni is celebrating his 42nd birthday on Friday, July 7. Known for his calmness in high-pressure situations, 'Captain Cool' is admired by cricketers and fans all around the world.

Dhoni holds the distinction of being the only skipper to have won all three ICC white-ball competitions: the ODI World Cup, T20 World Cup, and Champions Trophy.

Dhoni made his India debut in 2004 in an ODI against Bangladesh and then made his Test debut in 2005 against Sri Lanka. He was named India captain in 2007 in T20Is and took over from Rahul Dravid in ODIs the same year, while becoming the Test captain in 2008 after Anil Kumble announced his retirement.

He led India in two World Cups - 2011, and 2015 and won the 2011 edition, while took the Men in Blue to the semi-finals in 2015. He quit Test Captaincy in 2014 after retiring from the format and gave up ODI and T20I leadership in 2017.

He ended his career after the 2019 World Cup, announcing his retirement from international cricket in 2020.

"Happy birthday Mahi bhai” - Pant wishes Dhoni

On the occasion of Dhoni's birthday, India wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant celebrated the special day by cutting a cake on his behalf. Pant is currently in the NCA, recovering from injuries he sustained in the aftermath of his car accident in December 2022 and since then he has not played any cricket.

"Happy birthday Mahi bhai. Aap toh ho nhi pass aapke liye cake cut leta hun mai. Happy birthday," Pant said in an Instagram post.
