Rishabh Pant made his return to test cricket after December 2022.

Wicket-keeper batters Rishabh Pant and Liton Das were involved in a serious discussion during the first session of day 1 of the 1st IND vs BAN test. Their verbal exchange has gone viral on social media.

The IND vs BAN test series got underway on Thursday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and elected to bowl first.

The visitors dominated the first hour of the play as they dismissed Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli – all three wickets were taken by pacer Hasan Mahmud, who bowled an excellent spell of seven overs and conceded only 14 runs while bowling two maidens. He was supported brilliantly by Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana.

Rishabh Pant and Liton Das have a go at each other over Spirit of Cricket

The famous Spirit of Cricket was brought up in the first session of the IND vs BAN Chennai test after Pant and Yashasvi Jaiswal took a single after the ball had deflected off Pant’s pads following a throw by a fielder.

Pant tapped a ball from Taskin to gully and set off for a single but was sent back by Jaiswal. The fielder threw the ball at the striker’s stumps but it hit Pant and deflected toward mid-on. Pant and Jaiswal saw this opportunity and took a quick single.

Liton wasn’t pleased with the Indian batters taking a run after the ball got deflected off Pant’s pads. He walked up to Pant and had a chat with the left-hander. Their conversation was caught on the stump mic and it wasn’t a pleasant one.

Pant was heard saying, “Usko feko na bhai mujhe kyu mar rhe ho.” Liton said, “Vo to marega hi,” to which Pant replied, “Marle me bhi toh bhagunga.”

At Lunch, India are 88/3 with Pant on 33* and Jaiswal on 37*.
