Indian Cricket Team wicket-keepe -batter Rishabh Pant set the stage on fire with the bat in the ongoing second innings of the second test against the England Cricket Team. Edgbaston in Birmingham is hosting the game between the two teams, which commenced on 2nd July.
Rishabh Pant walked out to bat after KL Rahul got out for 55 runs. There was a different type of energy in the batting as he slammed England bowlers all over the park, making sure that he extended the lead over 400 runs in quick time.
Rishabh Pant made the England bowlers look clueless as he walked down the ground and hit them all over the park. Although he got dropped twice, he made sure he didn’t let it affect him as he batted with the same tempo.
It was a typical Pant innings, and the proof of that was when his bat went for a ride in a hilarious event. On the last ball of the 34th over, Josh Tongue bowled a delivery to which the keeper-batter attempted to hit out of the park.
Rishabh Pant had a hack at a delivery and lost his bat. It went flying out of his hands into the square leg region, while the ball went through to the keeper. Even the keeper batter couldn’t help himself as he looked at the skies with a laugh.
Rishabh Pant, who failed to make a big impact with the bat in the first innings, slammed a sensational half-century and put India in a dominating position. He was looking all set for a ton, but he ended up giving his wicket and also lost his bat, for the second time, on same delivery.
On the second ball of the 47th over, Rishabh Pant tried to hit Shoaib Bashir for a six as he came down the track. He lost all his shape as he played the lofted shot and got the thickish outer half of the bat. Since he swung so hard, the bat flew away as well with the ball.
It was a simple catch to long-off while the bat flew away towards the leg-side. Brydon Carse picked up the bat and gave it to Pant, who walked back to the hut disappointed.
