Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of the fifth ENG vs IND test due to a toe fracture.

Indian Cricket Team vice-captain Rishabh Pant shared a heartwarming post for the fans after he was ruled out of the fifth test against the England Cricket Team with a toe fracture. He thanked all the supporters for their support and shared an update about his fitness.

Rishabh Pant stole the hearts of many with his antics during the fourth test against England. The match between the two teams took place at Old Trafford in Manchester and ended in a draw after a brilliant batting effort from the visitors.

It was a special game for Rishabh Pant as he proved his commitment to the nation. The keeper-batter, in the first innings, got hit on the toe while batting and left the field, retired hurt. Later, it was revealed that he had sustained a fracture and wouldn’t be able to play.

However, he defied all the odds and came out to bat, limping and hopping in pain. Despite his fractured toe, he batted for his team under tough circumstances and hit a valuable fifty that helped his team post a total of 358 runs in the first innings.

The reports claimed that Rishabh Pant didn’t agree to get his toe plastered as he wanted to bat for the side in the second innings as well. However, thankfully, he wasn’t needed as Indian batters produced a gigantic effort with the bat and drew the game.

Following the match, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released an official statement and confirmed that Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of the last game. The match will be played at The Oval, starting on 31st July.

As he was ruled out of the last game, he came up with a heartwarming message for fans. He thanked them for their support and confirmed that he will begin his rehab once the fracture heals. While calling playing for the country as the proudest moment, he said:

“Appreciate all the love and good wishes coming my way. It’s been a real source of strength. I will begin rehab once my fracture heals and I am slowly settling into the process. Staying patient, following the routines and giving it my 100%. Playing for the country has always been the proudest moment of my life. Can’t wait to be back doing what I love.”

Rishabh Pant not playing the next game will come as a massive blow for the Indian team, as he has been one of the best batters in the series. He mustered 479 runs in the four games that he played to go with two centuries and three fifties.

In his place, the BCCI added N Jagadeesan to the team for the last game. The Tamil Nadu batter makes it into the team based on his brilliant performances in domestic cricket.
