This is the second injury Rishabh Pant has suffered in the ongoing test series against England.
Indian Cricket Team vice-captain Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of the ongoing test series against the England Cricket Team, as per the reports in the Indian Express. This came after he suffered a broken toe on day one of the ongoing Manchester test, which began on July 23.
Prior to his injury, Rishabh Pant and Sai Sudharsan’s steady connection was helping India gain ground. The keeper-batter scored 37 runs, including two boundaries and a six, as part of the team’s unbeaten 72-run total for the fourth wicket.
Earlier, India got off to a solid start with a 94-run partnership from openers KL Rahul (46) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (58). Jaiswal and Sudharsan put on another 26 runs after Rahul left, but Dawson got rid of Jaiswal. Pant was brought to the crease after Ben Stokes dismissed Shubman Gill for 12.
With 37 runs off 48 balls, including two boundaries and a six, Pant appeared to be in excellent form. Pant attempted a reverse sweep off Chris Woakes in the 68th over of the day but was smacked flush on the boot.
Rishabh Pant out of action for six weeks after fractured toe

The Indian medical and physio crews needed to assist Pant immediately since it was clear that he was in a lot of discomfort.
When Pant’s right toe was examined, there was noticeable edema. Pant, writhing with each touch, was unable to go on and had to retire wounded. He was eventually removed from the field by a medical buggy so that he could get additional treatment.
The management of the Indian squad brought him right away to a hospital for scans, and it was reported that Pant had a fractured right toe. With one man short in the playing XI, the Indian team management has asked the medical team to check if Pant can bat after taking a painkiller if the need arises.
“The scan report showed a fracture, and he is ruled out for six weeks. The medical team is trying to see if he can come out to bat again by taking a painkiller. He still needs support to walk though, and chances of his batting look very bleak,” a source in the BCCI confirmed to The Indian Express.
Rishabh Pant has sustained two injuries in this test series. Dhruv Jurel had to take up the keeping responsibilities for the remainder of the Lord’s test when he injured his left index finger while taking wickets.
