Rishabh Pant has been out of action since his near fatal car crash in December 2022.

Delhi Capitals fans have been dealt with a huge blow as reports have emerged of star wicket-keeper batter and captain Rishabh Pant missing the entire 2024 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Pant, who was expected to make a comeback after a horrific car accident, is reportedly not included in the squad for the upcoming season.

Pant’s recovery from the injuries sustained in the car accident is slower than anticipated. While the exact details of his current health status haven’t been disclosed by BCCI or NCA, it seems he might not be able to participate in the high-intensity environment of the cash-rich league.

According to a report from Danik Bhaskar, Rishabh Pant is yet to receive his clearance from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to take part in the upcoming edition of the IPL 2024. If Pant doesn’t get clearance from the NCA, then it will jeopardize his chances of making a return after that horrific car accident.

The report also added that the experts feel that Pant still needs time to be fully ready. Meanwhile, the Delhi Capitals haven’t added him to the squad but might request the IPL to add him as an extra player.

It is to be noted that the star batter Rishabh Pant had gone through multiple surgeries after his car accident in 2022 when he was returning to his home in Uttarakhand from Delhi.

There were rumors that Pant might take part in the IPL 2024 as an impact player. It is also clear that he would not keep wickets for the Delhi Capitals, which was also confirmed by DC’s director of cricket, Sourav Ganguly.

According to statements from DC’s director of cricket Sourav Ganguly and co-owner Parth Jindal, Pant is set to participate in the IPL 2024, but his participation will be depend whether the NCA clears him or not. The DC management is yet to release an official statement regarding the star Indian.
