The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has provided a massive update on the injury of Rishabh Pant amid the ongoing second day of the Manchester test against the England Cricket Team. The governing body confirmed that the keeper-batter will be available to bat if needed.
Pant faced a massive injury on the first day of the ongoing fourth test against England. In 68th over of the Indian innings, the keeper-batter got hit on the right toe and looked in immense pain, with the medical team rushing out to attend to him.
However, he didn’t look in great shape and was in unbearable pain. As a result, he was carried off the field on a medical buggy and was taken for scans to the hospital. As per various reports, it was learned that the keeper-batter has fractured his toe and will be ruled out of the series.
Since then, there have been a lot of speculations about whether Pant will bat in remainder of the ongoing Manchester test. Amid all this, the BCCI has provided an official update on him, saying that he won’t keep the wickets but will come out to bat if needed.

Releasing the official statement, BCCI said:
“Rishabh Pant, who sustained an injury to his right foot on Day 1 of the Manchester Test, will not be performing wicket-keeping duties for the remainder of the match. Dhruv Jurel will assume the role of wicket-keeper.“
“Despite his injury, Rishabh Pant has joined the team on Day 2 and will be available to bat as per team requirements.”
Pant was batting on 37 when he got injured. The Southpaw has been in a red-hot form in the series, having slammed 462 runs to go with two centuries and two fifties.
