Rishabh Pant enters top 10, Virat Kohli out in latest ICC test batting rankings

Rishabh Pant scored a fighting century against Bangladesh in the first test match.

After his stunning return to the test format, Indian wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant re-entered top 10 of the ICC test batting rankings. The latest update on September 25 also saw modern-day legend Virat Kohli drop out of the top 10. India test and ODI captain Rohit Sharma also slipped down five spots.

Along with Pant, Shubman Gill and Ravichandran Ashwin have also made a significant rise in the latest ICC men’s test batting rankings. Pant, who made his test return, slammed a crucial century against Bangladesh in the first test match in Chennai.

Pant has now moved up to the sixth position with 731 points. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma has slipped down to 10th position with 716 points. Kohli, who had a poor show against Bangladesh in the Chennai test, is out of the top 10 ICC test batting rankings. The 35-year-old is placed 12th with 709 points.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored a crucial fifty in the Chennai test against Bangladesh, moved to fifth place with 751 points. England’s Joe Root continues to stay at the top of the ICC test batting rankings with 899 points.

Ravichandran Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah dominates ICC test bowling rankings

After picking a six-wicket haul against Bangladesh in Chennai, Ravichandran Ashwin continues to stay at the top of test bowling rankings with 871 points in the latest update.

Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah, who scalped four wickets in the first test against Bangladesh, is inching close on fellow teammate Ravi Ashwin and is placed second with 54 points.
