Pakistan won the toss and Babar Azam chose to bowl first against India in the Asia Cup 2023 Super Four game.

Out of contention India keeper-batter Rishabh Pant shared on social media that he is watching the ongoing India vs. Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 Super 4s stage encounter being played in Colombo on September 10, 2023.

Pant, who was involved in a near-fatal car accident in December 2022, has made a rapid recovery since then and had to undergo knee surgery as well to repair damaged cartilage and other issues in Mumbai.

Since then, he has been recovering and undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Pant is making tremendous progress in recovering from the injuries and is currently on a determined comeback path without a clear schedule.

He had visited the Indian team when it was prepping for the Asia Cup 2023 with a camp in Alur. He reconnected with his Delhi Capitals teammates Kuldeep Yadav and Shardul Thakur.

Pant had also participated in a friendly match on August 15 in Alur, which was his first outing in the middle and was seen shimming down the pitch and hitting sixes, something might have come as a confidence booster for the batter as well because the crash had affected his knee the most.

Babar Azam won the toss and chose to bowl first and revealed that Pakistan was playing with the same XI that conquered the Bangladeshi side in Lahore a few days ago.

Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, revealed that India had made two changes. Jasprit Bumrah returned to the XI after missing the Nepal game for the birth of his child and replaced Mohammad Shami.

Shreyas Iyer suffered back spasms during the team warmups before the toss and was replaced last minute in the XI by KL Rahul, who made his return to international cricket after a long layoff.
