Robin Minz was bought by Gujarat Titans (GT) at the IPL 2024 auction for 3.6 crores.

Last year’s runners-up Gujarat Titans (GT) have been dealt with a huge blow as their uncapped wicket-keeper batter Robin Minz has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

The 21-year-old Minz, who was bought by the Ahmedabad-based franchise for a whopping Rs 3.60 crore, was involved in a bike accident. The unfortunate incident was confirmed by his father on 3rd March.

The uncapped player was riding a Kawasaki superbike when he was hit by another vehicle, which made him lose control of his bike. Robin sustained bruises on his right knee and was carefully treated at a local medical facility after the bike accident.

“He lost control when his bike came in contact with another bike. Nothing serious at the moment and he is currently under observation,” Robin’s father Francis told News18.

The wicket-keeper batter was scheduled to join GT’s training camp ahead of IPL 2024 but will have to miss the whole tournament due to an unfortunate accident.

The Jharkhand born-cricketer was the first tribal (indigenous) cricketer to get an IPL contract. Robin Minz is yet to make his debut for Jharkhand in the Ranji Trophy tournament; however, Minz has already played for the for the U-19 and U-25 teams.
