Kagiso Rabada dismissed Rohit Sharma in both innings of the first test in Centurion.

There were huge expectations associated with Indian captain Rohit Sharma ahead of the test series against South Africa. Rohit failed miserably in the ongoing first test match being played at the Supersport Park in Centurion and could only manage to score 5 runs in two innings. Indian skipper Rohit was dismissed on a 8-ball duck by South African pace bowler Kagiso Rabada in the second innings.

South African right-arm pacer Kagiso Rabada rattled Rohit Sharma’s off-stump in the second innings with a beauty of a delivery in the third over. This is the first time Rohit has been dismissed for a duck in ICC World Test Championship history. Rohit got out to Rabada in the first innings as well courtesy of a decent running catch from debutant Nandre Burger at fine leg.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was convincingly beaten by the movement and pace. This was a dream delivery for any fast bowler bowling to a world-class batter like Rohit. Rohit has failed to fix his place with an impactful knock in tests away from home.

Kagiso Rabada picked up a five-wicket haul in the first innings and helped his side contain Indian batting line-up for a total of 245 runs. South Africa went on to score 408 runs in the first innings courtesy of a magnificent century from Dean Elgar (185). All-rounder Marco Jansen (84) and debutant David Bedingham (56) also contributed to South Africa’s total.
