Rohit Sharma had yet another funny incident in the press conference after winning Asia Cup 2023.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma led Indian Cricket Team to back-to-back ODI Asia Cup titles. Team India won their 7th 50-overs Asia Cup title after defeating Sri Lanka in the final played at R. Premadasa Cricket Stadium in Colombo. Rohit became the first Indian captain to win the championship back-to-back as he got the hand in the title in 2018 as well. After winning the Asia Cup title, Indian team went into celebration mode in Colombo. Captain Rohit Sharma had a light moment in the press conference as well.

Rohit's funny take in Press Conference

When Rohit Sharma was addressing a press conference and responding to journalists' questions, a noise of firecrackers came in loudly in the media room that distracted the Indian skipper. Rohit Sharma stopped midway and waited for the noise to fade away. In-between, Rohit Sharma made a comment that made everyone present in the media room laugh out loud. Rohit said, “Are… World Cup jeetne k baad fodo yaar (Guys… Burst these crackers after winning the World Cup).” After this comment, everyone had a great laugh for a few seconds.

Team India have won only the Asia Cup thrice in multinational tournaments after winning the ICC Champions Trophy under MS Dhoni in 2013. Team India under Rohit Sharma’s leadership won the Asia Cup in 2018 after they defeated Bangladesh in the final in Dubai. Then after defeating Sri Lanka in Colombo, India lifted their record 7th ODI Asia Cup title. In 2016, MS Dhoni-led side won the first-ever T20I Asia Cup title.

Team India will enter the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India to end the ICC title wait for Indian fans. The last time when India hosted the World Cup in 2011 they came out as champions and ended the 28-year wait of winning the World Cup. India will be opening their World Cup campaign against Australia at Chepauk stadium in Chennai on 8th October. Team India were knocked out from the Semi-finals in two previous editions of the World Cup tournaments.
