The fifth test between England Cricket Team and Indian Cricket Team is currently underway at The Oval, London. During day three of the encounter, former India test skipper Rohit Sharma was spotted watching the game from the stands.
Rohit Sharma retired from test cricket in May 2025 ahead of India’s tour of England 2025. He pulled the curtains down on his test career after playing 67 matches. The right-handed batsman mustered 4301 runs in 116 innings at an average of 40.58.
The 38-year-old slammed 12 centuries and 18 half-centuries, with a top knock of 212 runs. After Sharma’s test retirement, Shubman Gill was appointed as India’s test captain and has done a wonderful job with the bat in the ongoing series. Having retired from T20I and test cricket, Rohit Sharma is still expected to captain India in ODI cricket.

Meanwhile, India have gained a dominating position in The Oval test. In the second innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal (118) scored a century to take India’s over 300 in the innings.

India have extended their lead to over 300 runs and are en route to set a mammoth target for England in the second innings. Earlier, India were bowled out for 224 runs in the first innings with a half-century by Karun Nair (57).
Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna hunted four wickets each to dismantle England at 247/10 in the first innings. Zak Crawley (64) and Harry Brook (53) scored half-centuries. England lead the five-match series 2-1, and India need to win the fifth test to end the series in a draw.
