Rohit Sharma reveals the chat with Yashasvi Jaiswal in the middle; praises his temperament

Indian captain Rohit Sharma all praise for his new opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal after his debut ton in Dominica test.
Yashasvi Jaiswal impressed everyone with 171 runs on his debut in the Dominica Test against West Indies. The Mumbai batter was also named the player of the match. The 1st Test, which India won by an innings and 141 runs, witnessed the youngster bat for more than 500 minutes and face 387 balls.
He shared an opening stand of 229 with the captain Rohit Sharma. Talking about his fellow opener, Rohit Sharma said that everyone knew that he has got talent.
"He has got the talent. "We knew about it. He's shown us in the past couple of years that he's ready for this big stage", he said.
Rohit added that the 21-year-old showed a lot of patience and did not panic. "He came and batted sensibly, showed a lot of patience, and the temperament was tested as well - at no stage [did it look] like he was panicking or going away from his plans, which was good to see," he added.
Adding more, Rohit Sharma revealed how he calmed the debutant in the middle. "In the middle, it was just about having a chat, letting him know, 'You belong here.' That is the most important thing," he added.

Rohit also revealed that his job from the other end was to remind Jaiswal to have fun in the middle and forget about the results.
"My job from the other side was to just keep telling him, 'You've done all the hard yards, it's just about enjoying your time in the middle. Don't worry about the results, just enjoy your time, and if you do that the results will flow.'"
India defeated West Indies in the first Test to go 1-0 up in the series. Batting first, West Indies made only 150 in the first innings. R Ashwin grabbed five wickets as well.
India declared at 421/5. Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a ton each while Virat Kohli made 76.
Ashwin dominated once again with the ball as the all-rounder grabbed seven wickets and dismissed West Indies for 130 to give India a massive win.
