Royal Challengers Bengaluru full squad after IPL 2025 mega auction
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru reached the playoffs last season but couldn’t make it to the final.
An era has ended for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) as they will be without the likes of Mohammed Siraj, Faf du Plessis, and Glenn Maxwell in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. RCB had released this trio and didn’t buy any of them back at the IPL 2025 mega auction.
They did, though, made other terrific purchases such as Phil Salt for 11.5 crores, Josh Hazlewood for 12.5 crores, Krunal Pandya for 5.75 crores and Bhuvneshwar Kumar for 10.75 crores.
RCB also splashed huge money on Jitesh Sharma (11 crores) as they look for a finisher and keeper to replace Dinesh Karthik. They also roped in Liam Livingstone, the power-hitting England all-rounder who recently led the side in West Indies, for 8.75 crores.
It’s still not clear who will be RCB’s captain in IPL 2025. Options other than Virat Kohli in their squad are Phil Salt and Livingstone, both of whom have recently captained England in white-ball cricket when Jos Buttler was injured.
Earlier, RCB had retained only three players.
Players retained by RCB before IPL 2025 mega auction:
Virat Kohli (INR 21 crores), Rajat Patidar (INR 11 crores), Yash Dayal (INR 5 crores)
