India will face South Africa in the third and final T20I match on Thursday in Johannesburg.

The second T20I match between South Africa and India didn’t end the way India would have liked, as they ended on the other side of the result. The hosts won the game by five wickets and took a 1-0 lead in the series. Both teams will now face each other in the final game on Thursday at the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.

Team India will be trying to win this game so that they can draw the series 1-1, or else South Africa will win the series. We might see a few chances for Indian team in the final game. Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, and Ruturaj Gaikwad are likely to come in. So let’s check the predicted playing XI for India for the third game.

SA vs IND: India’s Predicted playing XI vs South Africa

1. Ruturaj Gaikwad :

Ruturaj Gaikwad missed the second game due to a illness, but he is expected to be back for the final game. Both Indian openers got out for a duck in the second game. Gaikwad’s inclusion will give him solidity at the top. He is also in good form and scored the most runs in Australia series.

2. Shubman Gill :

Shubman Gill bagged a 2-ball duck in the second game, which was not a good start to his tour. But he is too good of a player to fail in consecutive innings. So we might see him score important runs in the third game. Gill is in good form and will be a key player at the top for India.

3. Shreyas Iyer :

Shreyas Iyer was rested in the last match and will replace Tilak Varma for the final game. Iyer scored an important fifty in the final game against Australia and is also in good form. His presence in the team will strengthen the batting, and he can make a big difference in the middle-order.

4. Suryakumar Yadav (c) :

Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav scored an important fifty in the last game and made 36-ball 56 but got out at the wrong time. But he showed that he can score runs in these conditions as well. SKY will be the main player for India and can change the course of the game single-handedly, and the hosts will have that in their minds.

5. Ishan Kishan (wk) :

Ishan Kishan will be back in the playing XI in place of Jitesh Sharma. The left-hander is a dynamic player who can hit the ball at will. He is also in red-hot form, having scored two consecutive fifties in three matches played against Australia. He will be eager to get back onto the field and score runs for India.

6. Rinku Singh :

Rinku Singh has been a brilliant addition to this team. He has been on fire since he made his debut for India. The southpaw scored an unbeaten 68 off 39 in the last game and took India to a challenging score. He knows how to score runs in the final game and also build an innings. Hence, his quick runs in the end will make a difference in the final game.

7. Ravindra Jadeja :

Ravindra Jadeja had a decent outing in the second game, but it was not up to his standards. The all-rounder is a match-winner for India in all three departments and can make a big impact. He bowled tough overs in the final game and batted when India needed quick runs. His ability to contain run scoring makes him a valuable asset to this team.

8. Kuldeep Yadav :

Kuldeep Yadav bowled well and took 1/26 in the game. He will be looking to turn things around in India’s favor in the final match as well. Kuldeep, with his variations, can trouble South African batters and make an impact. His ability to take wickets in the middle overs makes him a difficult bowler to face.

9. Arshdeep Singh :

Arshdeep Singh had a horrible day with the ball. He went for 31 runs in just two overs and conceded 26 in his opening over. He bowled wayward and couldn’t bowl in the channel. But one thing that was encouraging was the little swing he was getting. If he can bowl in good areas, he can be pretty lethal in the final game with the new ball.

10. Mohammed Siraj :

Mohammed Siraj also had a decent outing with the bowl with a spell of 1/27. He looked good in patches, but some loose balls made his bowling figures expensive. However, he is in good form and can make the ball talk. India will hope that he can take a few wickets early on to put the hosts under pressure.

11. Mukesh Kumar :

Mukesh Kumar picked up two wickets for India in the last game and was bowling well. He can control the flow of runs, which makes him a good bowler to have on the team. Mukesh bowls at the hard length and generates bounce with his height, which can affect the bouncy pitch in Johannesburg.
