The first game of the SA vs IND T20I series 2024 will be played on November 8.

After suffering a whitewash in the home test series against New Zealand, Team India will now travel to South Africa for a four-match T20I series. However, the test squad and T20I squad are completely different.

The two teams last faced off in the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, where India edged out the Proteas by a narrow margin of seven runs. Their historic contest on the grandest stage is already considered one of the greatest games in T20I cricket.

With a major focus on the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024, the T20 series will provide the fans with some fast-paced cricketing action. India have named a young squad for the South African tour consisting of uncapped players Ramandeep Singh, Vijaykumar Vyshak and Yash Dayal.

The last time these two teams met in a bilateral T20I series was last year when India toured South Africa for a three-match series.

Thanks to Reeza Hendricks’s quickfire knock of 49 runs, South Africa chased down the total with five wickets to spare. Tabraiz Shamsi was named Player of the Match for his bowling figures of 1/18 in four overs.

India staged a strong comeback in the third T20I in Johannesburg. Batting first, India posted a daunting total of 201 runs with captain Suryakumar Yadav registering the fourth century of his T20I career.

In reply, South Africa were bowled out for 95 runs. Kuldeep Yadav starred with the ball, picking up 5/17 in his less than three overs. Suryakumar was named Player of the Match for his match-winning knock of 100 off 56 balls.
