India's tour of South Africa 2024
SA vs IND: South Africa playing XI vs India, 2nd T20I, 2023 – Predicted
South Africa will face India in second T20I on Tuesday at the St George’s Park, Gqeberha.
The first T20I match between South Africa and India ended without a result as it was called off due to rain. The second game between the two sides will be played on December 12 at St. George’s Park, Gqeberha. South Africa have only five T20Is left before the start of the ICC T20 World Cup in 2024.
It means they have some areas to address, and every match is important from here on. The hosts have a pretty settled batting attack with some new faces, but their pace bowling is slightly inexperienced, which will be tested here. We will talk here about South Africa’s predicted XI for the second game.
SA vs IND: South Africa’s Predicted playing XI vs India
1. Reeza Hendricks :
Reeza Hendricks is a pretty solid opener who has some consistent performances under his belt. He was part of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 squad but didn’t play many games. But he is a pretty technical batter who can play some good shots and can bat well against spin and pace.
2. Aiden Markram (C) :
Aiden Markram will be leading Proteas in the absence of Temba Bavuma in the white-ball leg of the tour. He will be a big wicket at the top for the visitors. He was in good form during the World Cup in India, and now, as a captain with added responsibility, he will be more dangerous.
3. Donovan Ferreira :
Donovan Ferreira has a great chance in his hands to do well for the team and get a chance to be on the roaster for the T20 World Cup squad. The right-hander has done well at domestic and at SA20 to get a chance in the national team. He can be a surprising package for India.
4. Heinrich Klaasen :
Heinrich Klaasen will be one that India would want to get rid off as early as possible. The right-hander is a beast when it comes to hitting the ball, and there are not many that can hit the pacers and spinners like he does. Klaasen will be the one on whom South Africa will rely to do well in the game.
5. David Miller :
Veteran performer David Miller has been a consistent player for South Africa over the years and has been in pretty decent form as well. The left-hander is highly experienced and has batted in all kinds of situations throughout his career, and his experience will give his team an edge in the coming game.
6. Tristan Stubbs :
Tristan Stubbs is a highly rated youngster who is one of the cleanest strikers of the ball. He was the most expensive player to be bought at the inaugural SA20, and he has done a pretty good job whenever he has been given an opportunity. Stubbs will be the finisher that his team will look for.
7. Marco Jansen :
Marco Jansen will be the one who poses a threat to India. He is a tall left-arm pacer who can swing the ball a lot and can trouble the batters. He can dismiss a couple of Indian batters at the top and put the visitors under pressure. Not to forget, he can also come down the order to hit some big sixes as well.
8. Gerald Coetzee :
Gerald Coetzee is an exciting young prospect who is always up for a challenge. His celebrations after taking up a wicket are worth watching, and he is always involved in the game. Coetzee was South Africa’s highest wicket-taker in the World Cup, where the conditions were challenging for bowling, and he can be more lethal in swinging conditions here.
9. Keshav Maharaj :
Keshav Maharaj will be the one that Indian batters need to be worried about. He is a skiddy bowler who bowls wicket-to-wicket, which makes him a difficult bowler to score against. The spinner is pretty successful because he is good against both right-handers and left-handers.
10. Beuran Hendricks :
Beuran Hendricks was added to the team after Lungi Ngidi was ruled out due to injury. He will be sharing the new ball. Hendricks played his last T20I match in 2021, and an injury helped him get a chance. The pacer will look to grab this chance with both hands and do well for the team.
11. Lizaad Williams :
Lizaad Williams will be the fourth pacer in the team. He is in the squad after some good performances at the domestic level. Williams has only a couple of games under his belt in the shorter format, but he is a quality death bowler and will be in action to bowl the difficult overs for his team. If he can contain Indian batters, South Africa will dominate.
