The final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, SA vs NZ, will be played in Dubai.
After 22 exciting matches, finally we’re here for the final of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, where South Africa will face New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on October 20.
South Africa are brimming with confidence after registering an eight-wicket win over the defending champions Australia in the semi-finals. In a historic performance which saw Australia getting knocked out of the tournament before reaching the finals for the first time since 2009, the Proteas women put up an impressive bowling performance restricting the Aussies to a small total of 134. Chasing the target, Anneke Bosch was the star of the show as she guided South Africa to victory with her innings of 74* off 48 balls.
The victory for New Zealand on the other hand in the semi-final against West Indies came in a low-scoring thriller, where Kiwis after being restricted for 128 off their 20 overs, defended the target securing their place in the finals by eight runs. Eden Carson was the star with the ball for New Zealand as she dismantled the Windies’ top order by picking up three crucial wickets.
The game on Sunday promises to give us a new winner as both South Africa and New Zealand will be eyeing their first Women’s T20 World Cup trophy.
