The first test SA vs SL test will start on November 27.

The highly anticipated two-test series between South Africa and Sri Lanka is scheduled to kick off on November 27. This series is part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle and both teams are in contention to reach the final.

The year 2024 has been a year of resurgence for Sri Lanka cricket. Coming fresh off their 2-0 test series win against New Zealand, Lankans would fancy their chances against a transitioning South African team.

As we edge closer to what promises to be a thrilling series, Sri Lanka have announced their 17-man squad for the test series.

Fast-bowler Kasun Rajitha and left-arm spinner Lasith Embuldeniya have made their comebacks in the test squad whereas all-rounder Ramesh Mendis and spinner Jeffrey Vandersay have been left out from the squad that hosted New Zealand.

Rajita was pivotal in Sri Lanka’s famous series win against South Africa in 2019, taking nine wickets in two games. Embuldeniya, meanwhile, has made a comeback after two years after his impressive performances in the domestic circuit.
