David Miller and Keshav Maharaj played a massive role in South Africa reaching the Super 8 stage of T20 World Cup 2026.

South Africa Cricket Team are crossing swords with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in their last group game of ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The match between the two teams is taking place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Colombo on Wednesday, February 18.

South Africa have qualified for the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2026, having won their last three games. On the other hand, UAE struggled big time in the tournament and were eliminated earlier in the league stage.

However, SA vs UAE will be a great platform for UAE to pull an upset and dent the confidence of South Africa going into the Super 8 stage.

South Africa have made quite a few changes for the clash against the UAE in the T20 World Cup 2026. However, two changes that caught the attention of many was of David Miller and Keshav Maharaj, who played a huge role in South Africa’s qualification for the Super 8 stage.

The two have been rested with management giving opportunities to other players in the squad. With South Africa already qualifying for the Super 8 stage, Miller and Maharaj have been given time off with Jason Smith and George Linde replacing them.

The management would be hoping that the move doesn’t backfire as changing the winning combination ahead of the Super 8 clash won’t hamper the rhythm of Miller and Maharaj, especially with the next game on Sunday, February 22.
