Marco Jansen played a massive role in South Africa making it into the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2026.
In a surprise move, South African fast bowler Marco Jansen was left out of the lineup against the United Arab Emirates. South Africa are taking on the UAE in match 34 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 with the Proteas qualification for Super 8 already secured.
In the match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, South Africa won the toss and chose to field. The Proteas have made whole-sole changes to their lineup with four players being left out. Lungi Ngidi, Marco Jansen, David Miller and Keshav Maharaj have been left out against the UAE.

South Africa have left out premium all-rounder against the UAE in match 34 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. In the four changes made by the Proteas, Kwena Maphaka has replaced Jansen in the playing 11.
Jansen has played a crucial role in South Africa securing their spot in the Super Eights of the T20 World Cup. Jansen has picked up 7 wickets in the opening 3 matches, striking with the new ball for the Proteas. Jansen picked up 4 wickets against New Zealand in the previous Group D encounter.
Having already secured their place in the Super Eight, South Africa have decided to empty their bench, providing rest to their premium fast bowlers. Lungi Ngidi has also been rested along with seasoned campaigners David Miller and Keshav Maharaj.
With the Proteas scheduled to play defending champions India in first encounter of Super 8s, South Africa will hope that Jansen will comeback firing after being rested against UAE. Having played 3 group matches in Ahmedabad, Marco Jansen along with the pace battery of the Proteas will have to play a crucial role against India.
