SA20 2024: Points table, most runs, most wickets after match 16 DSG vs MICT

Durban’s Super Giants defeated MI Cape Town in the 16th game of SA20 2024.

Durban’s Super Giants (DSG) came back to winning ways after defeating MI Cape Town (MICT) at Newlands Park in Cape Town in the 16th match of the season. DSG lost two back-to-back games earlier against Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Pretoria Capitals. But a big win against MI Cape Town will now boost the team’s morale for remaineder of the tournament. DSG won the game by 36 runs at Newlands Cricket Stadium.

Batting first, Durban’s Super Giants posted 157 runs on the board. Opener Matthew Breetzke was the top-scorer in the game. Breetzke scored 48 runs in 45 balls. DSG batters initially struggled to score freely but Wiaan Mulder’s cameo of 38 runs took DSG to a modest total. MI Cape Town didn’t get off to a great start and they kept losing wickets against the opposition bowlers. Noor Ahmed (3/22) and Marcus Stoinis’ (3/18) spell helped them win an important game and get 4 points.

Durban’s Super Giants rised to the second spot in the SA20 2024 points table after a magnificent win over MI Cape Town. Durban successfully defended their modest total of 157 runs at Newlands Stadium in Cape Town and got four crucial points from the game.
