SA20 2024: Points table, most runs, most wickets, after Match 8 SEC vs MICT

Sunrisers Eastern Cape Cricket Team have defeated MI Cape Town by four runs in the SA20 2024 League game.

In the 8th of the ongoing SA20 league match at Cape Town, Sunrisers Eastern Cape opted to bat first. Jordan Hermann’s outstanding unbeaten century (106 runs off 62 balls) and Dawid Malan’s brisk 53 helped Eastern Cape amass a commanding total of 202/2 in 20 overs. MI Cape Town, chasing a target of 203, saw notable performances from Ryan Rickelton (58) and Rassie van der Dussen (41).

Despite their efforts, MI Cape Town managed to reach 198/5 in 20 overs, falling short by just four runs. Ottniel Baartman was instrumental for Eastern Cape with a three-wicket haul.

After the eighth match of the ongoing edition of SA20, the points table sees Durban’s Super Giants are at top of the table with 12 points in three games. Durban’s Super Giants wicket-keeper Heinrich Klaasen is third in the list with 162 runs. Paarl Royals skipper David Miller is fourth with 116 runs. Pretoria Capitals Rilee Rossouw is fifth with 111 runs in two innings.
